Holidays may be a time of tradition and family for you. For those less fortunate, it’s all too often a time of stress, sadness, and disappointment. Many parents worry about not being able to provide food, a tree, or gifts for their family. Many children don’t get to experience the tradition of a tree, a warm meal and wrapped presents.

Worse than no Christmas presents or no tree is not knowing where you are going to sleep.

We need YOUR help to ensure everyone has a warm place to call Home for the Holidays and all year long. Your donation can: save a family from eviction; help a family transition from a shelter to permanent housing; or provide someone homeless a warm place to sleep on a cold winter night.

According to HUD (Housing and Urban Development), permanent supportive housing, like the Shelter Plus Care program at Project Concern, is the most effective and cost efficient service model for chronically homeless individuals. Without a stable place to live and a support system to help them address underlying problems, most people who find themselves homeless shift from one emergency system to the next – for example: from the streets to shelters, to public hospitals, to psychiatric institutions and detox centers, and ultimately, back to the streets – a seemingly endless cycle.

Please make a donation to Home for the Holidays today! Or join the cause by becoming a fundraiser yourself, and/or by sharingthis campaign with your social media contacts. You make the difference!

Project Concern is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all donations are tax deductible. Project Concern is proudly supported by United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States.
